Drive the Algarve your way!

Went totally above and beyond and everything I asked for was responded with “no problem.” I spontaneously decided to extend my stay by two months in the Algarve. I have been traveling in a large camper van but rented a house near the Costa Vincentina where I really needed a car for two months. Even though Discovery Cars in located an hour away from where I am staying, they arranged for me to rent a car for a month at a fraction of the cost of renting long term from Hertz or one of the big companies. When I said I wanted to keep the car an additional month, “no problem.” When I asked if they could come pick up the car “no problem.” The pick up was only 100 euros where a lot of other companies would charge 3x that. When I told them that I didn’t fill up the tank before they had to come and get it, “no problem”, they will fill it up and just charged me for only half the tank. When I apologized that the car was very dusty and sandy, “no problem” they would have it cleaned and just charge me the professional cleaning fee, which was only 50 euros. I was worried that I wasn’t going to find a rental car solution in this remote part of the Algarve. But not only did Discovery really, really help me out, they did so without price gouging, charging me totally fair and affordable fees for the long term rental, the pick up fee, gas refill fee and cleaning fee. All rental car companies should have this level of stress-free service. Oh yeah, and whenever I needed to get in touch with them, they responded within minutes. Excellent service!!

Tikrai patikima įmonė. Nereikėjo užstato. Puikiai išdiskutavome visas s� lygas dar prieš savaitę iš namų. Paėmė mus iš Faro oro uosto po vidurnakčio nusileidus lėktuvui. Automobilio nuomos sutartyje buvo pažymėtos vietos, kur yra pažeistas kėbulas. Gr� žinus automobilį, mus nuvežė į oro uost� . Labai džiaugiamės atradę ši� įmonę.

Big scam. You can't pay a deposit if you have a debit card, they need a credit card. It means it should say credit on your card otherwise you have to pay 20€ more a day to be able to rent a car. They work with car rental companies to make that scam happen. Just outrageous

Waited for a half an hour at the airport for the shuttle, to have them cancel the booked car as it “was not available”. 21minuts after booked time.Shuttle driver had no idea said booking was his company,” A/V rentacar” vs “A/V discovery rentacar”. There were so many other shuttles there… DO NOT RISK THIS ONE. Ruined first day of our trip

This is an extremely reliable company with a great fleet of cars. I have hired cars from this company for over a decade (for myself, family and clients) and I have never had a single issue with them and have always been completely satisfied with the cars and the service I’ve received. Highly recommend.

Sadly , this company texted me canceling my current reservation due to a pricing error on their system. It was understandable and they at first offered a special price to rebook as some type of goodwill. Ha..special price indeed...when I checked the 16 euro / day special price I saw that comparable vehicles were offered at competitors sites at Faro Airport for roughly 170 Euros for a manual or about 200 euros less. So I suggested that they offer me a similar price and out of respect for inconvenience and in the interest of good business PR ,provide an upgrade to an automatic vehicle for around that price. Ha, I was referred to Pedro the manager who simply argued that an automatic was out of the question and asked for examples of pricing which I provided . This went on for several texts after which Pedro became belligerent and told me he didn't like my attitude, that I couldn't rent a vehicle at that price in my country and he wouldn't be bullied and to go rent somewhere else. So I did .Maybe he was having a bad day 😕 I would be reluctant to rent there

Very helpful and friendly. We arrived late and someone stayed late to handle pick up. Good comms before had due to late pick up.
